It all starts from a spark...
March 2020 — A nightmare for everybody. The world was reeling from a pandemic, hearts weighed down by uncertainty. It was into this chaos that WeDidIt was born from a humble beginning: a seminar at P.B. Siddhartha College, Vijayawada. Inspired students and changemakers, led by Sree Krishna Seelam, decided to ignite something bigger than themselves.
What began with just a few people evolved swiftly. Today, 6,214+ volunteers stand with WeDidIt, each telling a unique story of service. Their growth hasn’t gone unnoticed — in 2021, WeDidIt won the Economic Times’ “Excellence in Social Entrepreneurship” award for its social impact.
● Their Philosophy: You Grow by Giving
What sets WeDidIt apart isn’t just the causes they take up — it’s their belief in volunteer growth as social change. They follow the mindset that:
“When you serve someone you don’t know, when you give without expecting anything in return — that’s when the human in you awakens.”
They also align their work with the UN Sustainable Development Goals — tackling poverty, hunger, health, education, gender equality, environment, and more. In other words: better stories mean broader impact.

Another striking feature: WeDidIt functions purely on volunteer spirit. From the grassroots to leadership, salaries are not their currency — passion is. Also, royalties from books authored by their founder are funneled back into causes — for example, educating girls or supporting legal access.
● Better Stories in Action: Projects & Initiatives
WeDidIt’s difference emerges when you dive into their actual work. Their programs are examples of “small stories, big impact.” Here are a few:
Cleaning the Krishna River banks: Volunteers collect plastic and waste, restoring ecological balance.
Support for farmers: Spend time in rural areas, help with farming tasks, bring new methods, build bridges between urban and rural reality.
Recycle used notebooks: A quiet, symbolic act to reduce waste and support learning, showing that even small actions matter.
Organizing marathons and sports events: Combining health, community, and awareness.
Free motivational sessions in schools & colleges: Encouraging young minds to view service as an integral part of life.
“3‑Hour Hero” program: For people who feel they lack time, this lets them volunteer meaningfully by giving just 3 hours at intervals.
Through these acts, WeDidIt weaves stories of change into everyday life.
● Where Mental Health & Holistic Welfare Meet
Though WeDidIt is widely recognized for volunteerism, their mission naturally touches mental wellness, social upliftment, and holistic betterment. Here’s how:
Empathy-building through service helps volunteers understand struggles beyond their own — reducing stigma, fostering compassion, and promoting mental resilience.
Their alignment with “Good Health & Well‑Being” in the SDGs means mental and physical health are part of their agenda.
By involving youth in service deeply, they hope to create meaning, reduce isolation, and build purpose — essential pillars of mental well‑being.
The resources and projects (education, livelihood, environment) contribute to social determinants of health.
In short: their “everything betterment” approach is embedded in how they operate — mental, physical, social, environmental, and educational welfare all matter.
■ Better Stories, Better Impact, Brighter Tomorrow — Your Role
Every movement grows when more hearts join. Here’s how you can step into the story:
● Become a Volunteer — whether locally or virtually. Even small contributions (like 3 hours) ripple outward.
● Donate or support the initiatives. Whether through funds or skills.
● Share the Stories — amplify the voices of change, so others are inspired.
● Collaborate or Partner — your organization, school, or community can host programs with WeDidIt.
When you do, you’re not just helping others — you’re becoming part of a living narrative: better stories → better impact → brighter tomorrow.
