So I’m trying to wrangle together a night out at Spinners UK for a seriously mixed-age crew – think teens, parents, and even my slightly competitive nan. I’m torn between booking bowling or darts. Bowling feels more classic, but darts looks kinda cool with all the flashy boards and game modes.
Trouble is, I don’t wanna pick something half the group ends up bored with. Has anyone done either (or both) with a big mixed crowd? Which one actually keeps everyone laughing instead of staring at their phones? Any advice would be massively appreciated!

I’ve done both with mixed-age groups, and bowling usually wins for keeping everyone involved. It’s simple, low-pressure, and people can jump in and out without needing much explanation. The darts setup is fun, especially with the digital games, but it can lose the younger or older crowd if they’re not used to it. If your goal is steady laughs and no one feeling left out, bowling’s probably the safer bet.
Did a birthday do at Spinners with a big age mix—my dad’s a quiet one, my niece won’t sit still, and my gran takes no prisoners. Bowling won hands down for keeping everyone chatting and moving without overthinking it. Darts looked slick but needed more focus and felt a bit less buzz-y for the quieter ones. If you're into getting everyone stuck into some fun social gaming, bowling hit the sweet spot for us.
