about #twitter

Twitter is what's happening. It is an online news service where users post and interact with short messages, known as “Tweets.” These were originally limited to 140 characters, but this was later doubled to 280 characters (for all languages except Japanese, Korean, and Chinese) to enable more expression.

The Twitter platform was launched in 2006 (along with the first API). Version 2 of the Twitter API was released in 2021.
