Why do I love Perfectionism so much?

I recently realised that I’m predominantly a combination of Red, a little Green & majorly Yellow (the Dominant, Submissive & Inspiring personality types respectively) and very little Blue (the Analytical one or better say-the Perfectionist), after reading the book - “Surrounded by Idiots” by Thomas Erikson.

Red, Yellow, Green, Blue Behaviours

And now I came to understand it better why I’m always drawn to Perfectionism- because we tend to get attracted to what we don’t have or what we are not.

I’m not a Perfectionist, so, I’m always trying to be one. And it’s an extreme desire that has always been inside of me- that would occasionally resurface in smallest of my actions, subconsciously. For instance, I love those movies/ web-series which have some sort of “the perfect character”, who’s insanely powerful or unreal smart or extremely manipulative, or, I should say, ‘invincible’ in whatever he/she does. Some of such characters I love are- Young Sheldon, John Wick, The Witcher- Geralt of Rivia, Wednesday, Batman and so does the list go on.

Well, not just on screen, I love the unreal perfectionism in real life too. Like, in a classroom- I’m mostly the - ‘who knows it all’- kid, who solves it faster than the professor, remembers the content of books/ slides by page numbers, and sometimes who is able to point out mistakes in even books! Or in sports, I am many times able to defeat the state or sometimes even national level players in a game that I started playing just a few months ago.

But I just can’t help it. And sometimes, the urge of doing everything perfectly, itself hurts me. Like, I can’t stand anyone outperforming me in something that I was good at! It just stresses me out. And then I either end up getting better than them or too bad, leaving it entirely!

So, if you've also experienced such personality-specific likes or dislikes, you can let me know in the comments.
