It’s late. You’re probably wrapping up dinner, half-reading docs, or sitting on the toilet pretending this is “thinking time.”
This isn’t a post about code, AI, or full-stack systems. It’s about keeping a small thing alive.
My kid’s youth hockey organization is running a fundraiser that literally keeps the program operating. Ice time, coaching, and scholarships all come from this. There are no swag bags, no perks, no prizes for him. The only thing he gets out of it is that his team gets to exist.
Youth sports are one of the few places left where kids learn teamwork, resilience, and how to show up for something bigger than themselves. But they’re fragile. When funding falls short, programs quietly disappear.
If you’ve got a few dollars you wouldn’t miss, or you can share the link with someone who might care, it would genuinely mean a lot. Small contributions compound fast, just like good code.
Thanks for reading. Back to your regularly scheduled debugging.
