Foundations for 2026 – Forget Goals, Build Systems.
Unpopular opinion: New Year’s resolutions are overrated. By a lot.
Yes, there’s huge value in setting goals, chasing big things, and working towards a clear line to reach.
But especially classic year-long goals are almost always meaningless. They’re forgotten most of the time anyway, and they sit too far in the future to drive real action now.
So if you want to set goals, make them short-term and action-based instead of outcome-based.
(By the way, book recommendation: The 12 Week Year. Amazing read!)
But what matters even more are systems. Systems make you move. They’re the real needle-movers.
Because if you have a goal, the system is what actually gets you there.
→ Want more clients? Your system is outreach, content, ads, doing great work, overdelivering – all the actions that create momentum.
→ Want to hit a new gym PR? Your system is the meals, the training, the mental routines that make progress inevitable.
Systems turn clarity into rhythm: Habits, tools, and processes that keep you improving even when motivation fades.
That’s why at PSWD, every launch, every client project, every check-in runs on systems, not mood.
If you’re building a business, or working toward any other big goal, don’t (only) start 2026 by asking “What do I want to achieve?”
Ask “What rhythm will make that achievement inevitable?”
Set goals, absolutely.
But then, create the systems that actually make you crush them.
Systems create momentum.
