Most advice about local SEO is either outdated or written by people who are not actively running campaigns. This is what I am seeing work right now.
First, local SEO wins come from narrowing focus, not expanding it. Pages built around one service in one location consistently outperform broad “SEO services” pages. Google is prioritizing relevance and proof, not keyword volume.
Second, Google Business Profile optimization matters more than most websites. Accurate categories, service descriptions, regular updates, and real customer signals often move rankings faster than blog content. For service-based businesses, GBP is usually the highest ROI channel.
Third, proof is now a ranking asset. Reviews, location-specific testimonials, and consistent business information across platforms influence both search visibility and conversions. Pages without real proof struggle to compete, even if the technical SEO is solid.
Finally, AI is most useful when it supports execution, not strategy. Using AI to assist with content structure, internal linking, and repetitive tasks saves time, but results still come from understanding local intent and competition.
Local SEO in 2025 is less about hacks and more about alignment: service relevance, location clarity, and trust signals working together.
If you are working on local or service-based SEO, I am always interested in comparing notes and learning what others are seeing in the field.
