Bra Myths, Busted by Brabic: A Friendly Guide to Real Sizing

1. Welcome to Mythbusters: Brabic Edition

Bra sizing has more urban legends than a season of Stranger Things.

From “you should always size down in the band for support” to “D cups are huge on everyone,” most of it is wrong and all of it is stressful.

This Brabic mini-guide takes a few common bra myths and gently destroys them, so your next bra decision is based on facts, not fear.

2. Myth #1: “Tighter is always better for support”

Reality check:

If your band is so tight you’re counting minutes until you rip it off, it’s not “supportive,” it’s hostile.

Brabic’s take:

The band should be snug and level, not climbing your back.

You should be able to breathe and move without feeling crushed.

If you see deep red marks that last for hours, that’s a red flag, not a feature.

True support = good materials + correct size, not punishment-level tightness.

3. Myth #2: “All D cups are the same” (spoiler: they’re not)

A 70D, 75D and 85D are not the same “D.” Cup letters are linked to band size, which is why sister sizes exist.

Brabic sizing logic:

If 75C fits in the cup but the band is tight → try 80B

If 75C band is loose but cup is good → try 70D

Instead of obsessing over the letter, focus on:

Is the underwire sitting where it should?

Are the cups smooth without gaps or spillage?

Does the band stay in place when you move?

Once you understand that, you can pick Brabic bras based on fit, not letter drama.

4. Myth #3: “Shapewear is only for big events or ‘fixing’ your body”

Modern shapewear, like Brabic’s, is less about “fixing” and more about comfort and confidence:

smoothing under thin fabrics

helping clothes drape nicely

reducing chafing between thighs

You can:

wear light-control shorts under office clothes

use a Brabic bodysuit as a daily base layer

save firmer pieces for special occasions

Your body is not broken. Shapewear is just one more tool in your wardrobe toolbox.
