What is WeDidIt?

WeDidIt is a young but dynamic Indian non-profit organization founded in 2020 by Sree Krishna Seelam and a small team in the city of Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.

From the very beginning, its aim has been to inspire people—especially youth—to volunteer, serve communities and become stronger, more compassionate humans.

Their Mission & Approach

•Mission: To inspire "ordinary" people to do "uncommon" things. WeDidIt focuses on the fact that any person can make a difference if they act.

•Focus on volunteering and leadership: They don't just want volunteers doing one-off tasks-they aim to groom people who understand service, leadership, and impact.

•Accessibility: One of their innovative models is making volunteering easy and manageable-even for someone with limited time. For example the “3 Hour Hero” concept-volunteer for just 3 hours-helps make service a habit rather than a burden.

Key Areas of Work:

1.Environmental & community clean-ups: They organize river-bank cleans, waste-management drives, and more.

2.Education & youth engagement: Volunteering in schools, conducting motivation sessions, facilitating opportunities for impoverished kids to be educated.

3.Bridging gaps: They also engage in rural-urban linkages, such as facilitating farmers in their work, encouraging sustainable practices, and cross-community service.

What Makes It Special

• Low barrier to entry: You don't have to quit your job or be a full-time activist to join. Just a few hours, a willing heart, and you're in.

• As volunteers grow, they are encouraged to lead projects rather than just following them.

• Transparent, optimistic culture: The vibe is not guilt-driven (“you should serve”) but inviting (“you can serve, and here’s how”).

•Youth-focused, digital-friendly: Given its relatively young age, WeDidIt uses modern social media, digital resources, and flexible models of signing up, targeting younger generations.

Why You Should Care

If you're seeking a way to give back, grow yourself, and connect with something bigger, WeDidIt offers an amazing platform in which to dive:
• It allows you to serve your community while building leadership skills.
• It reminds us that change is possible via many small acts, not just big grand gestures.
• It shows that volunteering isn't just about helping others, but also about helping oneself, too-a stronger and compassionate individual.

How You Can Get Involved

• Sign up to volunteer on their website.
• Pick an activity that suits your time and interests: clean-ups, mentoring, rural support, reading drives.
• Bring a friend! Group volunteering can be more fun and rewarding.
•Afterwards, reflect: What did I learn? How did I feel? This helps make volunteering a habit, rather than just a one-time event.

Organisations such as WeDidIt prove that volunteering in modern times does not have to be intimidating or unreachable. It’s not just for the “full-time activist”—it’s for the student, the part-timer, the busy person who still wants to make a difference. If you're feeling stuck or unsure how to contribute, this is one way to start: small steps, meaningful impact, and a chance to connect with a community of change-makers.
